Got down to the beach, and the wind dropped off. Doh! I got my kite out, and after a while it picked up to around 18mph. Had quite a few problems launching, the downwind end was flapping around really badly and when I launched the kite twisted round. Twice. Was finding it really hard to keep the lines on top of the kite.

Eventually on the third go I managed to launch the kite, and set off to the water. A few attempts at water starts and I sort of got up a couple of times, but not very well. Then the wind picked up, and I realised most kites were back on shore, so I went in! Peaked at about 21 - 22mph, quite a lot for a beginner with a 15m

The wind dropped down a bit, and I managed to launch first time, although not easy. Got in the water, and managed to get up and going properly, stayed up for about 50m. Woo hoo, this is awesome stuff!! Went out a bit, then back in to shore, and had quite a bit of fun.

Packed up after about 25 minutes of this, the tide was coming in quite a bit, but was stoked to have been able to get up and stay up for a little bit. Can't wait for the next session!!

Total time 2 hrs, riding time 45 mins
